The over/under for Dallas Cowboys wins in 2010 is 10.5
The wiseguys have just the right number in 2010 as the Cowboys went 11-5 last year. I think the Cowboys are going to win the NFC East again but this time with only a 10-6 record. That means if I had to make a bet on the Cowboys it would be a small one on the under. The Cowboys are 10-1 to win the Super Bowl on their own field. I would caution that before laying your cash down on the Cowboys that would mean that Wade Phillips would have to win 3 or 4 post season games in a row and I just don’t see it happening.
The Dallas Cowboys deal Pat McQuistan to the Dolphins
The Cowboys have traded 27-year old OT Pat McQuistan to the Dolphins for a undisclosed late round draft pick. McQuistan played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Cowboys last season. He played in 40 games (0 starts) in his four years with the Cowboys. This was a good deal for McQuistan and the Cowboys as he might get more P.T. in Miami while the Cowboys continue to stockpile draft picks.
The Dallas Cowboys trade Patrick Crayton to the Chargers
The Cowboys have traded 31-year old WR/PR Patrick Crayton to the Chargers for a seventh round pick in 2011. Crayton played in 16 games (6 starts) for the Cowboys last season and he caught 37 passes for 622 yards (16.8 avg) with 5 TD grabs. He also carried the ball 4 times for 28 yards (7.0 ypc) and he also returned 36 punts for 437 yards (12.1 avg) with 2 TD returns. Crayotn played in 82 games (33 starts) in his six years with the Cowboys in which he caught 196 passes for 2,888 yards (14.7 avg) with 23 TD grabs. He also carried the ball 6 times for 39 yards (6.5 ypc) and he returned 111 punts for 1,066 yards (9.6 avg) with 2 TD returns. Based on his age and his position on the depth chart I like this trade for all parties involved.
Dallas Cowboys 27, Miami Dolphins 25
Cowboys’ kicker David Buehler nailed a 31-yard field goal as time expired to seal this win last night. Stephen McGee looked pretty sharp as he played the whole game completing 27 of 42 passes with 304 yards with 1 TD pass. RB Herb Donaldson led the way on the ground for the Cowboys last night with 40 yards rushing on 8 carries (5.0 ypc) with 1 TD run. He also caught 2 passes for 9 yards in this game. RB Lonyae Miller pitched in with 35 yards rushing on 9 carries (3.9 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 13 yards. The Cowboys finished up with 79 yards rushing (3.2 ypc) and 295 yards passing in this game.
CB Bryan McCann led the way for the Cowboys’ D in this game with 7 tackles. LB Victor Bush was outstanding last night with 6 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 pass defensed. Rookie linebacker Sean Lee was outstanding as he finished up with 4 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks and 2 QB hits. The Dolphins finished up with 79 yards rushing (3.2 ypc) and 295 yards passing in this game. The Cowboys finished up with a 3-2 record in the pre-season.
The Dallas Cowboys will be without OT Sam Young for a while
The Cowboys will be without rookie OT Sam Young out of Notre Dame for the next 3-4 weeks due to a sprained MCL. He played in the first 3 pre-season games for the Cowboys. This will hurt the Cowboys a little bit as they are hurting depth wise along the offensive line.
The Dallas Cowboys waive Pat Watkins
The Cowboys have waived 27-year old safety Pat Watkins. Watkins played in 13 games for the Cowboys last season and he made 29 tackles. He played in 49 games in four years with the Cowboys and he had 124 tackles, 10 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles and 4 interceptions. It will be interesting to see if the Cowboys miss Watkins in 2010.
Houston Texans 23, Dallas Cowboys 7
The Cowboys flat out sucked on Saturday Night against the Texans. Tony Romo completed 13 of 18 passes for 146 yards with 1 INT. He also lost a fumble in this game. Jon Kitna looked better than Romo as he completed 3 of 6 passes for 49 yards with 1 TD pass. Stephen McGee finished up this game by completing 8 of 10 passes for 58 yards. Felix Jones led the way on the ground for the Cowboys in this game with 6 yards rushing on 3 carries (2.0 ypc). He also caught 3 passes for 17 yards (5.7 avg) in this game.
